I’m an extreme minimalist. Everything I own fits into two bags.
But minimal doesn’t mean cheap.
I like to dress well and have nice things.
So even though I don’t own much, my clothing and gear are high-quality.
Nice clothing makes you feel good, for one thing. No secret that well-dressed men command more respect and get more attention from women.
Quality gear also saves you money. You pay more up front, yes. But nice stuff lasts longer, so you’ll end up spending less in the long run. And quality is also a time-saver, you’ll spend less time shopping to replace worn-out stuff.
Ready to upgrade your wardrobe with better gear, but not sure where to start?
Don’t worry. I’ve got you covered. In this post we’ll look at four of my favorite high-quality fashion accessories.
They’re all light-weight. So they’re perfect for stylish minimalist nomads.
But even if you’re not a traveler, you should still have these things. Because they’re fashion basics, items every well-dressed man should own:

Some men wear calf-skin leather dress belts.
I like reptile.
Reptile skin is tougher, lasts longer, and has unique patterns. Plus it gives off a subtle predatory vibe.
Lizard is a solid choice, but I prefer crocodile.
American alligator or caiman are good too, since they’re basically the same animal.
Sunglasses are a must for stylish men.
My personal favorite are Ray-Ban aviators. They’re lightweight and durable. I wear a silver pair with interchangeable lenses, so I can switch it up.
Pro-tip: Ray-Bans come in different sizes, so pick carefully. Getting a new pair for the first time? Go down to your local Ray-Ban store. Have them measure your face. Make note of which style and size fit you best. Then go buy the same ones for cheaper online.
Cufflinks are vital for polishing your look. And since most guys don’t wear them, you’ll look slick when you do.
I’ve got some Montblanc cufflinks with rhodium plating and manta-ray skin inserts. I couldn’t find those exact ones online, but the ones I’ve linked to are similar.
Pro-tip: When choosing metals to wear, make sure you pick the color that best compliments your skin tone. Some guys look best in gold, but others look better wearing silver or platinum.
Many guys get confused by pocket squares.
But picking the right one is real simple.
Rule # 1: Never use silk pocket squares. Only wear 100% Linen pocket squares with hand-rolled edges.
Rule # 2: Avoid colored pocket squares. Solid white is best.
If you must have color? Go with a white linen square with a solid color edge (like the one pictured).
So there you go, my friend.
Building out a new wardrobe?
Or upgrading an older one?
Now you know where to start.
