I’m almost 39 years old. I’m in great shape for a guy my age, and I have naturally high testosterone. But T levels decrease as men get older. So last year I decided to get on TRT (testosterone replacement therapy).
Now many guys get their T measured professionally, and then base their dosage on the results. But I’m more experimental with drugs. So I skipped the doctor – it seemed like a waste of time. I don’t need someone telling me what I already know.
Plus, I live in Mexico City. So I could just go to any drug store and buy pharmaceutical-grade T over the counter; with no prescription.
So after some research, that’s exactly what I did.
In October 2016, I started injected myself with 250 mg of Testosterone two times per week. I did this for seven months, with a 10-day break when I went to Cuba. Before Cuba, I used Sustanon 250. After Cuba, I used Primoteston. I didn’t use Clomid or HcG, just pure testosterone. And as of this writing, I’ve been off testosterone for a month – cold turkey.
6 Pros Of Using Testosterone
Here are the positive changes…
1) More Strength & Muscle Mass
TRT has a dramatic effect on strength gains and muscle size. It makes you noticeably bigger, stronger, and more jacked.
2) More Energy
My energy levels are much higher when I’m on testosterone. And when you inject it, it hits you fast – you feel that surge of energy the same day.
3) Stronger Sex Drive
It massively increases your libido. You’ll start craving sex like you’re 18 again. And you’ll become extremely aware of every single woman in your vicinity, wherever you go. You’ll know the T is working when you start waking up with daily morning wood.
4) Clear Head
The benefits aren’t all physical. It also helps clear your mind. It eliminates brain fog, which is a common problem for many guys as they age.
5) Better Moods
TRT puts you into a better mood – it improves your overall sense of daily well-being. You’ll feel calmer, more relaxed, and have a more positive outlook on life when using it.
6) Less Sleep
I need less sleep when I’m on T, going to bed later at night and getting up earlier in the morning.
6 Cons Of Using Testosterone:
Here are the downsides I experienced…
1) Testicle Shrinkage
Ah, the most important question of them all. Does testosterone make your balls shrink? Yes. But it’s minimal. I’d say I lost about 10% of my size when I was on TRT. Now that I’m off, they’re both back to normal size.
2) Testicle Pain
TRT makes your balls hurt. It’s not terrible, just a dull ache that comes and goes. The pain is at it’s worse when you first get on it, and then again when you come off. As of this writing (30 days off T, cold-turkey) there’s no more pain.
3) Post-Injection Muscle Pain
It can make your muscles really sore, depending on where you inject it. When I inject into my upper thighs, there’s lots of muscular pain – to the point where I limp around for a few days afterwards. But when I inject into my glutes (ass), I feel almost no pain the next day.
4) Mild Aggression
I never experienced ‘roid rage’ while using T. But it definitely makes you feel more aggressive. You’ll be hyper-aware of all the men in your vicinity – and you may feel the urge to smash some faces. This is easy to control, as long as you’re not a hot-headed savage.
5) Dick Is More Sensitive
T makes your penis much more sensitive. So while sex will feel amazing, it’ll also be harder to control yourself. This is a pretty major down-side to using T, in my opinion.
6) Bi-Weekly Injections
I don’t like needles, so I hate ‘pinning’ myself. But if you want the long-term benefits of TRT, you gotta be willing to go through the short-term pain of injections.
3 Neutral Effects Of TRT:
Here are some of the neutral effects I experienced..
1) Bigger Veins
I’ve always had large veins. But now they’re ridiculous – TRT made my veins much more prominent. It’s not bad or good, but it’s definitely noticeable.
2) Less Semen
TRT inhibits sperm production (that’s why your balls shrink while using it). So it decreases the size of your load – when you ejaculate, there will be way less than normal. The positive side? It’s like male birth control, it’s almost impossible to get a girl pregnant when you’re on it.
3) Hair Growth
Some guys lose hair on T. But for me it’s the opposite. I’ve noticed an increase in body hair – testosterone replacement therapy literally put hair on my chest.
Sustanon vs. Primoteston
I’ve used two different brands of Testosterone:
I started with Sustanon 250 by Organon. This one is popular because it’s a blend of four esters. Whether or not that’s better is debatable – some say it’s just a marketing trick. Either way, I didn’t love Sustanon. It’s weak. I would feel some effects when I was on it. But then after a day it would wear off. I made only moderate size and strength gains on Sustanon.
When I got back from Cuba, I switched to Primoteston Depot by Bayer. This type has just one ester. I really liked this brand and I highly recommend it. It’s much more potent than Sustanon. Primoteston lasts longer and works better. I made serious size and strength gains while using it. This is powerful, top shelf stuff – and it’s actually cheaper than Sustanon 250!
Coming Off TRT
As of this writing, I’ve been off testosterone for a month. I didn’t use Clomid when I stopped – I just quit using, cold turkey.
So far, I feel good.
My strength has dropped off a little. But I’ve kept most of the added muscle mass.
My balls have stopped aching, and they’ve returned to normal size.
For the first week off the acne on my back and chest was terrible, worse than normal. But that’s slowly clearing up now.
So that’s my experience. Pretty positive, for the most part. Of course that could change in a month or two – but my T levels are still high, and there’s been no crash (yet). And if that does happen, I’ll just get back on TRT.
Now I’m not advising that you use testosterone the way I did! Most guys are probably better off getting their T levels checked professionally – going through their doctor first.
However you choose to do it, this post should help you better understand the effects, so you can decide if using testosterone is right for you.
